Parmigiani Fleurier is proud to introduce the new Toric Tourbillon Slate, a distinguished timepiece representing the quintessence of refined watchmaking. The ultra-thin PF517 movement, comprising a platinum micro-rotor, bridges with côtes de Genève decoration, and flying tourbillon, was developed following in-depth studies by the Manufacture's master watchmakers. To keep the piece as slim as possible, the tourbillon was in fact integrated in the movement's main plate.

The Toric was the first watch case designed by Michel Parmigiani and was inspired by Ancient Greek Doric columns and features a gaudron and knurling bezel. This new tourbillon piece represents lifelong lessons in this master watchmaker’s career and background in restoration.

Tourbillon automatic movement
The micro-rotor in 950 platinum which winds the calibre is the component that determines the thinness of the PF517 movement. It is directly integrated in the main plate, without adding to the thickness. The watch designers of the Parmigiani Fleurier watchmaking centre managed to integrate the micro-rotor, the barrel, the tourbillon cage and the time-setting mechanism on the same main plate – all while keeping the time display at the centre. This technical feat is achieved thanks to the independent manufacture
